August month’s Photo Critic photography competition goes to Neil Joubert for his image “Soccer City Game Night”. This image wins him a free one (1) day workshop.
Photographers Comments…”A mate of mine and I were busy preparing for a Kaizer Chiefs game and taking shots as part of the brief. It was the first time I had the chance to take shots of the stadium and the shots I was taking were nice but not what I wanted. I eventually asked Jaque where we had to go to get to this side of the stadium as I really wanted to get the angle. We started walking around the stadium and after a while found the spot I was looking for. Set up my tripod and camera took this image. It was one of a few, while I was trying to get the composition I liked. I was trying to get some symmetry on the stadium and some interesting foreground leading into the field, I think it worked out quite well. I really liked the shot and put it in among the pics for critiquing but never expected it to get shot of the month. Photo Critic is really getting some incredible submissions, hey what can I say, I really appreciate it and the site is amazing!!”
