About the 1-Day Portrait Photography Bootcamp
Step up your portrait photography to the next level. A professional photographer spends the day with you; shooting models on location.
Course details
Classes are limited to 10 people, which means 5 photographers per model gives you ample opportunity to get your shots. We focus on helping you to consistently create good portraits and find a good balance between consistency and creativity.
- We shoot two experienced models for a full day both in-studio and on location. We assist with camera settings as well as creative aspects like composition, lighting setups, and poses.

The most important aspects covered during the Portrait Bootcamp:
- Capturing creative portraits consistently
- Shooting 2 models in different settings and styles for a full day under direction of a professional photographer
- Using Manual mode and the ETTR system to expose properly for skin tone
- We assist you with final image selections and personal critiques
Who is this course for?
Intermediate photographers who know the basic aspects of their cameras.
Course duration
1-Day weekend workshop.
Requirements
- DSLR, Mirrorless, or Compact camera with Manual Program Mode.
- We recommend you bring along a good portrait lens like the 70-200 mm f/2.8, the 24-105 mm for Canon or the 24-120 mm for Nikon.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of how to set up your camera i.e. able to change ISO, shutter speed, aperture, access the various focusing modes etc.
Cost
R1 900 per person. R300 discount for ex-DPC students. Lunch and refreshments included.
