The Photo Critic Shot of the Month competition for April 2015 is shared by two photographers; Amy Mcginley with her self-portrait titled “Shadowed Soul” and Luke Brouwers with “Early Morning Clouds“. Both photographers receive a discount of R600 for any photography courses with DPC for their winning photos! Congratulations to both of you!

Registering for a photography course/workshop at DPC entitles you to free membership to our student network, Photo Critic. Members may upload up to two images per week for constructive critiques and join in other photography activities.

About the Author:

Danie Bester
Fine Art, Landscape, Architecture: The more abstract forms of photography like impressionism and minimalism intrigue me. I prefer creating images that depict energy, mood and silence. To illustrate my themes, I use mainly long exposures, selective focus and focus blur. My philosophy is that the camera is just a paintbrush and that thought-provoking images stem from a trained mind.
